Ingredients:
4–5 apples (medium size, peeled and sliced)
180 g all-purpose flour
5 g baking powder (~1 tsp)
120 g sugar
5 g ground cinnamon (~1 tsp)
3 eggs
Pinch of salt
100 g milk (~100 ml)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Apples
Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
Toss them in a bowl with half the cinnamon (2.5 g) and 1 tbsp of the sugar.
Let them sit while you make the batter (they’ll release some juices and soften slightly).
2. Make the Batter
In a large bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and salt until light and frothy (about 2–3 minutes).
Stir in the milk.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and the remaining cinnamon.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until smooth (don’t overmix).
3. Assemble the Pie
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
Grease a 22–24 cm (9–10 inch) pie dish or springform pan.
Pour half the batter into the pan.
Layer half the apples over the batter.
Add the rest of the batter, then top with the remaining apples.
Optional: Sprinkle a little extra sugar and cinnamon on top for a caramelized crust.
4. Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden.
5. Cool and Serve
Let cool slightly before serving. Great warm or at room temp.
Serve plain or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
